Can Diabetes Cause Hair Loss
Several years ago it was discovered that, in many people, diabetes was connected to hair loss. This may be due to the fact that diabetes is a hormone disorder. If it does not cause the loss of hair it may eventually cause the thinning of hair. This is most likely due to the hormone insufficiency caused by diabetes. These side effects are not uncommon. In some cases where people with diabetes experience a loss of hair, it is possible the result of the extreme stress of having the disease and the problems it can cause. The hormone insufficiency makes it possible for this kind of thing to occur but stress can also be blamed when this occurs in people diagnosed with diabetes. It is very important to be tested for diabetes if there is the least concern about the disease. This can be a big step in maintaining your health throughout the rest of your life.

Diabetes is a serious disease but it should not consume your whole life.
Testing for diabetes can be very important to your life. Certain symptoms sometimes may not even be noticed because they are so mild and subtle. Because of this a person may not have any reason to think that they could be diabetic. Several of the complications occurring with diabetes could be prevented if the person could be diagnosed in time, before any of the complications really start to occur. Having annual medical examinations can help to detect or perhaps prevent this disease that is becoming more common everywhere in the world.

I have dealt with thinning hair from Chrohn’s disease and it makes sense to me that anything that is inflammatory to the system would result in hair loss or thinning. I don’t know much about how and if diabetes acts in an inflammatory way or not.
